In early 2026, Chandler hosted the AZ Festival of Nations, a vibrant two-day celebration at the Downtown Stage Park. Attendees experienced a global journey without leaving the city, highlighting Chandler’s commitment to cultural appreciation and unity.
Chandler International Film Festival
Another significant event was the Chandler International Film Festival, held from January 23 to February 1, 2026. The festival screened over 125 films from more than 35 countries, offering a platform for diverse storytelling and cinematic excellence. Since its inception in 2016, the festival has grown rapidly, reflecting Chandler’s dedication to the arts and global narratives.
Global Citizens’ Coffee Circle
Beyond festivals, Chandler has engaged in meaningful diplomatic initiatives. In November 2025, the city partnered with Global Ties Arizona to host the Global Citizens’ Coffee Circle at the Chandler Museum. This event welcomed 22 emerging political leaders from 20 nations, fostering discussions on civic engagement and policy reform. Mayor Kevin Hartke’s opening remarks underscored the importance of cross-border collaboration and local governance.
Breakfast for Diplomacy
Furthering its commitment to international relations, Chandler hosted the ‘Breakfast for Diplomacy’ on December 4, 2025, at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center. The event featured remarks from Mayor Hartke and a panel discussion titled ‘Bridging Borders: How Global Relationships Strengthen Local Communities.’ This gathering emphasized the city’s proactive approach to citizen diplomacy and global partnerships.
